R&D relief and IP Box: the state co-funds your creative work
Building software, improving products, running development work? You can deduct costs twice (R&D relief) and pay 5% tax on IP income (IP Box). We run the whole thing: qualification, records, and defence during an audit.
What the service covers
Eligibility audit
We check whether your work meets the R&D definition: systematic, creative, producing new knowledge. You get a straight yes/no before you invest in record-keeping.
R&D relief: up to 200% deduction
Qualified costs are deducted a second time from the tax base: R&D team salaries at up to 200%, materials, depreciation, expert reports. We prepare the calculation and the annual return.
IP Box: 5% instead of 12/19%
Income from qualified IP rights (incl. copyright to computer software) taxed at 5%. We calculate the nexus ratio and keep the conditions in check.
Separate IP records
A hard requirement of IP Box: dedicated records of each qualified IP, its revenue, costs and nexus. We keep them month by month, so there's no panicked backfilling before the return.
Individual tax ruling
For safety we request a ruling from KIS, describing your facts so the answer actually protects you. Most refusals come from poorly written applications.
Combining reliefs and audit defence
Since 2022 R&D relief and IP Box can be combined in one return. We represent you during verification and audits, with documentation that holds up.
How the rollout works
- 01
Qualification call (free)
You tell us what you build. We say plainly whether we see grounds for relief, and which one.
- 02
Mapping projects and costs
We lay out R&D projects, the team, qualified costs and qualified IP. A record-keeping plan emerges.
- 03
Ruling + records
We file the KIS application and start the separate records from month one.
- 04
Annual return
PIT/CIT with R&D/IP annexes and a black-on-white benefit calculation. Documentation refreshed every year.
